Classic Scary Costumes

Most people who are looking for a Halloween Costume are looking for a classic scary, ghoulish, preferably bloody costume. After all that is what Halloween is about is it.

We have reviewed a whole range of disgusting, scary costumes in our Scary Halloween Costume section. However the four classic scary costumes have to be (in no particular order) The Werewolf, The Vampire, The Witch and the Zombie.

The Zombie

A Zombie Costume is the Costume for you if you want disgusting and gross. The Zombie is all about putrid rotting flesh with blood pouring from your mouth. If doesn’t get much more disgusting….perfect for Halloween.

 

 

 

The Werewolf

 

The fearsome Werewolf is a classic Halloween character. Half Man, Half Wolf this mythical beast comes out at night when the full moon shines. It is ruthless and unforgiving, one of the scariest creatures that you could meet on a dark Halloween night (or indeed any night). A werewolf costume makes the perfect Halloween Costume.

Despite occasional sympathetic treatment of the werewolf in movies that show the werewolf more like a friendly loveable dog rather than an evil wolf (think Michael J Fox in Teen Wolf) the werewolf still remain one of the scariest Halloween characters.

The Vampire

The Prince of Darkness himself, in a Vampire Costume you will be another classic Halloween scary character. That said, in addition to the scariness there is also more than a hint of sexiness as well.

Vampires all seem to have impeccable dress sense, so as well as being scary this costume is ideal for the fashion conscious among you who don’t want to totally abandon style at your Halloween party. There are some truly stunning vampire costumes available with fine tailoring and stunning silkand velvet. Wear one of these outfits and you will be dressed to kill (pun absolutely intended).

If your aim is to frighten and scare then add to your vampire costume with ghostly make up with blood smeared fangs. A few rubber bats should be added to complete the effect.

The Witch

 

Witches, and the fear of witches,  have been part of our cultural and real life from form many hundreds of years. From Macbeth, through the real life witch hunts in 16th century Europe of in Salem in the 17th Century, to many modern films the evil witch is a common feature. Despite this generally bad image, the picture has been balanced a little recently with plenty of kinder witches in films in recent years.

 

Halloween is that night when witches take center stage. So if you fancy being an evil scary witch or a nicer friendlier witch then there will be a Witch Costume for you.
